Eura Drives 800 series inverters
The Eura Drives 800 series, the E800, is a compact and economical frequency inverter with a wide spread of uses, ventilation systems and light industrial drives in particular. Single-phase and three-phase versions run from 0.25 to 110 kW: single phase up to 2.2 kW, three phase from 0.75 to 110 kW. It drives induction motors and PMSM synchronous motors.

Control modes run from plain scalar U/f up to SVC vector control and the VC1 algorithm, so the drive is set to the load rather than left on a default. Torque auto-correction and energy saving functions are built in, and the overload capacity is 120% for 60 seconds, which keeps the drive on its feet when the load moves.
A class C3 EMC filter is integrated and a braking transistor is built in for use with an external resistor. Multi-pump applications are supported, with a sleep mode and automatic changeover between pumps. Protection covers overload, overvoltage, undervoltage, short circuit, overheating and phase loss.
Sizing starts with the motor power and the supply voltage, which narrows the model quickly. Control mode is the next decision: scalar is enough for a steady load, while SVC or VC1 earns its place where torque has to stay stable or the process is dynamic. On fans and pumps the U/f curve and torque auto-correction cut energy use and ease the load on the motor.
Count the inputs and outputs you need as well, because the I/O varies with the frame size, and check the analogue, digital and relay signals against your control system. Questions about the Eura Drives E800 series
Which powers does the E800 cover?
From 0.25 to 110 kW. Single-phase versions go up to 2.2 kW and three-phase versions run from 0.75 to 110 kW, so the series covers small and medium drives on one platform. Send us the motor rating and the supply you have and we will point you at the frame size that fits both.
Which control mode should I use?
Scalar U/f is enough where the load is steady, a fan on a fixed system for instance. SVC vector control or the VC1 algorithm is the choice where torque has to stay stable or the process is dynamic. On fans and pumps, the U/f curve with torque auto-correction reduces energy use and eases the load on the motor.
Does it drive permanent magnet motors?
Yes. The E800 runs induction motors and PMSM synchronous motors, with sensorless vector control available for the PMSM types. Tell us which motor you have, because the control mode and the parameter set differ between the two, and a drive set up for an induction motor will not get the best from a PMSM.
Can it run a multi-pump set?
Yes. Multi-pump applications are supported, with a sleep mode and automatic changeover between pumps, so duty is shared and the set is not left running at low demand. Send us the number of pumps, their ratings and how you want duty rotated, and we will cover the configuration in the quote.
Do I need a separate EMC filter?
A class C3 EMC filter is integrated, which covers a normal industrial installation without extra components in the panel. If the drive sits in an unusually sensitive environment it is worth checking the class against the installation requirement.
