Three-phase motors
A three-phase motor turns electrical energy into rotation using the magnetic field produced in the stator, and it is the standard drive for industrial machinery. We supply three ranges: Siemens SIMOTICS, AC-Motoren from Germany, and motors built by STM Polska. All three are available in efficiency classes IE2 to IE5, so the decision is usually about the mechanical build rather than the efficiency label.
That build is where most specifications are settled. Siemens motors come foot-mounted or flange-mounted with class F/B insulation, IP55 as standard and IP56 or IP65 where there is more dust or water about. AC-Motoren units meet IEC standards, carry the CE mark and come in a long list of construction types for vertical or horizontal mounting, in low, medium and high voltage. STM Polska motors can be built with forced cooling, a brake, or a shaft machined to your drawing.
All three ranges will run from an inverter. Siemens SIMOTICS models are inverter duty and work with Sinamics drives; most AC-Motoren models are inverter compatible, with insulated bearings or reinforced windings on many of them. Say at enquiry stage that the motor will be inverter fed, because it changes the model we pick. Send us the power, the duty, the mounting and the environment and we will quote within one working day, with availability confirmed on the quote.

Questions we get asked
Which efficiency class should I specify?
IE2 covers a standard installation. On a machine that runs continuously, IE3, IE4 or IE5 cut the energy used across the year, which is where the higher classes pay for themselves. The three ranges we supply all reach IE5. Give us the running hours and the load and we will set the class against them instead of guessing.
Can a three-phase motor run on an inverter?
Yes, and all three ranges are built for it. Siemens SIMOTICS motors are inverter duty and work with Sinamics drives. Most AC-Motoren models are inverter compatible, many with insulated bearings or reinforced windings. Tell us the drive and the speed range, because long spells at low speed affect what we recommend for cooling.
Foot mounting or flange mounting?
Foot-mounted motors suit stable installations bolted to a bed or a frame. Flange mounting is the choice where the drive is transmitted axially into a machine or a gear unit, because it makes that integration easier. AC-Motoren frames also cover vertical mounting. Send the machine drawing or the gearbox input details and we will confirm the mounting before quoting.
What protection degree do I need?
Siemens motors are IP55 as standard, which suits dust and moisture in most industrial settings, with IP56 or IP65 where the motor meets heavier dust or water. Damp, dust or a high ambient temperature can also push the build towards a different cooling arrangement. Describe the environment and we will specify against it.
What do you need from me to quote?
The power and torque the machine needs, the supply voltage, the duty pattern, the mounting arrangement and the working environment. If the motor is a replacement, the old nameplate and the shaft dimensions save a lot of back and forth. With that we size the motor and quote within one working day, availability confirmed on the quote.
