Parallel shaft gearboxes
A parallel shaft gearbox keeps the input and output shafts side by side rather than in line, so the casing stays flat and the drive fits where an inline unit will not. We supply two series: PMP and PMF for medium-heavy and heavy duty, and WPF where the mounting space is the binding constraint.
PMP and PMF use three reduction stages, three pairs of gears, on a monolithic cast housing machined on CNC equipment, with case-hardened and ground gears for quiet running and long life. PMP covers standard industrial drives, PMF adds mounting and configuration flexibility. WPF is the low-profile option: parallel shafts, several working positions, long intervals between inspections and low angular backlash, used in packaging, linear transport, robotics, automation and CNC machinery.
Sizing works the same way for both series. We need the output speed, the torque, the character of the load, the mounting method and the environment, since temperature, dust and humidity decide the lubrication and the seals. Send those and we quote within one working day.

Questions we get asked
When is a parallel shaft gearbox the right choice?
When the drive has to sit alongside the machine rather than in line with it, or when headroom is short. A flat, shaft-mounted gearbox keeps the package compact while still delivering high torque, which is why the WPF series goes into packaging machines, linear transport, robotics and CNC applications where space is restricted.
What is the difference between the PMP, PMF and WPF series?
PMP and PMF are the heavier units: three reduction stages on a monolithic cast housing, case-hardened and ground gears, for medium-heavy and heavy industrial duty. PMF adds mounting and configuration flexibility over PMP. WPF is built for restricted space, with a low profile, several working positions and long inspection intervals.
Can they run continuously?
Yes. Both series are designed for continuous industrial duty, and the WPF series has long intervals between inspections, which keeps service cost down on equipment that runs all day. Size the unit with a margin for the real load pattern, and specify the sealing and lubrication for the conditions on site.
What do you need to size one?
Torque, output speed, mounting type, sealing class (IP), cooling and lubrication, plus the duty cycle and the installation environment. For a tight installation, also send the available dimensions, the shaft sizes and the coupling arrangement, because on a compact drive those are usually what decides the answer.
