VR-E worm gearboxes

VR-E worm gearboxes are the E build of the VR series: compact units for industrial drives that need a high speed reduction, stable running and little space. Like the standard VR, they come without a motor interface and with a solid input shaft, which gives more freedom in how the drive is put together. A handwheel with a handle drives the unit by hand, or a belt pulley brings the drive in from a motor mounted elsewhere.

VR-E worm gearbox, E build with solid input shaft

The gearing is the classic worm and worm wheel arrangement, which passes torque smoothly and keeps the housing small for the reduction it delivers. The E build is aimed at everyday applications where the installation has to be simple, the behaviour has to be predictable and the drive has to be commissioned quickly, and it integrates with the machine without special adaptors.

VR-E units are used in new installations and in the modernisation of existing machines, holding the drive steady and keeping the process running. If you already run VR gearboxes, the E build uses the same solid input and the same drive options, so the selection questions are the same: output speed, torque, ratio, how the input is driven and how the unit mounts. Send us those and we will quote within one working day.

Questions about the VR wersja E series

What is the difference between VR and VR-E?

VR-E is the E build of the same worm gearbox series. Both come without a standard motor interface and with a solid input shaft, and both can be driven by a handwheel or a belt pulley. The published descriptions list the same construction and the same drive options, so the choice comes down to the exact build. Send us the ratio, the torque and the mounting and we will confirm which to quote.

How do I drive a VR-E gearbox?

Through the solid input shaft. A handwheel with a handle makes it a manual drive for setting and adjustment. A belt pulley on the same shaft takes the drive from a motor mounted elsewhere on the machine. There is no standard motor flange on this build, and that is what gives you the freedom in how the drive is arranged.

Is VR-E suitable for replacing a gearbox on an older machine?

It is used that way. The E build is meant for simple installation and quick commissioning, which is what a modernisation job needs, and the solid input shaft removes the job of matching a motor flange. Send us the mounting dimensions of the unit coming out, along with the output speed and the torque, and we will confirm the build.
