Most models are compatible with a frequency inverter, and many carry extra protection for it such as insulated bearings or reinforced windings. Say at the enquiry stage that the motor will be inverter controlled. It changes which model we select, and on pump and fan duties it is also where the energy saving comes from, because the drive follows the load.

The range runs from IE2 to IE5. On a machine working continuously, IE3, IE4 or IE5 reduce running costs noticeably, so the higher classes usually pay for themselves on long shifts. On intermittent duty the case is weaker. Give us the running hours and the load and we will put a class against them.

Yes. AC-Motoren build a long list of construction types, so vertical and horizontal mounting are both covered and the motor can be fitted into the machine frame you already have. Send the mounting arrangement and the shaft details with your enquiry so we quote the right construction type first time.

They meet IEC standards, carry the CE mark and comply with the EU directives on energy efficiency. The manufacturer works to ISO 9001, which is what keeps the build repeatable between orders. Documentation for the model is supplied with the motor, so the paperwork for your own compliance file is there from the start.

We start with the torque and power the machine demands, so the motor is not run at its limit. Then we look at the environment, damp, dust or a high ambient temperature, which may call for a higher protection degree or a different cooling arrangement. Last come the duty questions: start frequency, continuous or intermittent running, and the load at start-up.
