AMP and AMF inline helical gearboxes
AMP and AMF are inline helical gearboxes built around a one-piece cast housing. Meshing cylindrical gear pairs bring the motor speed down and the torque up, and the series covers 12 to 4500 Nm with drive powers from 0.03 to 88.97 kW. The housing is the reason this coaxial gear unit holds its parameters. Casting it in one piece keeps it stiff and stops it deforming under heavy load, so the drive keeps transmitting torque accurately. The inside of the casting is shaped to steer the oil, so every moving part is lubricated evenly: noise drops, wear slows and the unit seals better. Shafts are steel and the teeth are case-hardened and ground, which is where the quiet running and the long service life come from.
Sizing starts with the output speed and the torque the machine needs, then the ratio that gets you there. After that comes the duty: overload capacity, how often the drive starts and whether the load is steady or swings. The modular output flange gives you room to configure the drive end, which matters when the mounting space is already fixed by the machine.
The working environment decides the rest. Dust, humidity and swings in temperature point to a different sealing arrangement or a build with higher resistance, and we settle that at the quote stage rather than after a failure. Non-standard versions are available: a different shaft type, special sealing, a paint finish, or extra options such as a brake.

What torque and power does the AMP and AMF range cover?
The series runs from 12 Nm to 4500 Nm, with drive powers from 0.03 kW to 88.97 kW. That spread covers light duty and heavily loaded drives from the same family, so you can standardise on one series across a plant. We work out which size you need from the output torque and speed you give us, then add the margin the duty calls for.
Which ratio do I need?
Work backwards from the output speed the machine has to run at, against the speed of the motor driving it. Ratios from 1/2.4 to 1/301.2 are available, so the step is usually fine enough to hit the figure you want. Send the input speed, the required output speed and the torque, and we confirm the ratio and the frame size together.
Why does the one-piece housing matter?
A housing cast in one piece is stiffer than an assembled one. It resists deformation when the drive is loaded, so the gearbox keeps its parameters and transmits torque accurately instead of drifting. The internal shape of the same casting routes oil evenly around the moving parts, which cuts noise, slows wear and helps the unit stay sealed.
Can I order a non-standard build?
Yes. AMP and AMF gearboxes can be supplied with a different shaft type, special sealing, a particular paint finish or extra options such as a brake. Dusty, damp or hot installations often need the sealing changed, so tell us about the environment when you send the duty figures and we will specify it in the quote.
What do you need from me to size one?
The working parameters: torque, the ratio or output speed, the input speed and the mounting arrangement. It also helps to know how often the drive starts, whether the load is steady or shock loaded, and what the environment is like for dust, damp and temperature.
